A mixer built backwards

Most soft drinks are developed to taste good on their own. You open one, you drink it, it works. Whether it plays well with a spirit is somebody else's exploration later on.

Ours were developed the other way round. Every blend was judged in the glass alongside whisky first. The question was never "is this a nice drink?" It was "what has this done to the whisky?"

Those are different questions, and they produce different products. A soda that wins on its own tends to be sweeter, louder and more assertive than whisky can comfortably carry. Once you start judging it in the glass, restraint becomes the skill.

Diversity is the essence of our range. However, that restrained approach delivered something interesting that runs as a red thread through all our sodas. Balance and lightness. Lots more on that to come.

What whisky people know

They know that oak, smoke and honey are fragile things that a heavy-handed mixer will flatten. They know what dilution does to a spirit, because reducing whisky with water is part of the job. They know the difference between lengthening a flavour and burying it.

Above all, they know the point of the exercise. The mixer is not the main event and was never meant to be. It was always about building a light, refreshing and balanced mixer that could mingle beautifully with whisky in the glass.

Which is why we say it out loud

Anybody can make a soda that goes with whisky. It's not hard. What's harder is making one that gets out of the way when it should, and lifts when it should, and never once asks for the credit.

That takes people who care about the whisky more than they care about the soda.
