Twelve years ageing in an oak cask. A liquid achieved slowly and patiently by people who have given their working lives to getting it right. Smoky vanilla. Sandalwood. Fresh cut grass. The intricacy of whisky's flavours is hand-nurtured across Scotland, then left alone to become something worth waiting for.

And then we just add any old mixer? That was the bit that didn't add up for us.

The world loves the whisky highball, and so do we. Whisky is certainly enjoying its most social chapter yet, thanks to the whisky highball. No longer only drunk short and strong at the end of the night, whisky has turned light and long, refreshing enough for any social occasion. Tall glass. Plenty of ice. Whisky of choice. Topped up with soda.

But while the whisky world spent decades perfecting what goes in the cask, far less attention was paid to what joins it in the glass.

So we made whisky's other half.

Four flavours initially. Pure & Natural, Grapefruit & Gorse, Apple & Heather, Ginger & Honey. We've blended each soda with a particular whisky style in mind, one that we think it works particularly well with.

However, that is only our view. Freedom to explore whisky your way is a founding principle of Spey Soda.
