Introducing Apple & Heather

Introducing Apple & Heather

Apple & Heather is crisp, sharp and finely balanced. Bright green apple brings a clean freshness, while delicate hints of wild heather add a soft floral layer underneath. Lightly sparkling and refreshingly dry, it cuts through richness and opens up the layers in your whisky rather than sitting on top of them.

We imagine Apple & Heather will be a popular one. Potentially for some to enjoy when the evenings draw in, whereas others may find its crisp freshness the perfect spring tipple.

About the heather

Heather is the plant that turns Scottish moorland purple. It grows where almost nothing else will, across hillsides and peat and wind, and it has been part of Scottish life for as long as anyone has been keeping notes. Used to make rope, thatch, bedding, ale, and of course the famous heather honey.

Its scent is warm and faintly sweet, closer to honey than to flowers. That warmth is what stops the green apple from being purely sharp, and gives the whole thing a rounder finish.

Apple brings the freshness. Heather brings the depth.

How to serve it

Tall glass. Fill with ice. One part whisky of choice. Three parts Apple & Heather. Add a thin green apple slice or an expressed lemon twist (if you're feeling fancy). Stir. Sip. Enjoy with company.

Who it's for

We like to reach for Apple & Heather when the drink needs to hold its own alongside food, or when the evening has settled into something slower. Dinner with friends, a candlelit table, a date, a good bar on a cold night.

Whisky pairing

We would point you towards something traditionally Speyside. Those orchard and honeyed notes are already in the whisky, so the soda finds them and draws them forward rather than introducing anything new.

And then go exploring

Give Apple & Heather a go against something peatier and see how the apple cuts through the smoke.

But remember, our pairing ideas are only our view.
